Objectives of the Network

To select a group of people who are knowledgeable about and trained to handle issues of hate and discrimination

To provide support to individuals who have been the targets of intolerance, hate, or discrimination

To discuss concerns and distribute information about resources relevant to the student’s individual needs

To display a recognizable symbol that identifies network members
Network Symbol
The Network symbol was designed to identify the efforts of all persons uniting against acts of intolerance within the Penn State community. It is symbolic of the efforts of the Penn State community to combat discrimination and hatred.
Who are Members of the Network?
Network members are Penn State faculty, staff, staff, students, and administrators. We also encourage community members to support our endeavors.
How can you identify a member of the Network?
Network members can be recognized by the Support Network poster that they display. A list of members by their campus locations is available on the Web site.
How Can I Become a Member?
The participants of the Support Network are selected by the Zero Tolerance Committee based upon an application and selection process.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Support Network, fill out and submit the information on the online application.
Membership Requirements
Network members must be:
— selected by the Support Network committee;
— knowledgeable about available resources;
— supportive and respectful of the confidentiality of persons whom they serve.
