WISE Travel Grants
The WISE Travel grants are for $250 or less provided to female undergraduate and graduate students majoring in the sciences or engineering. The WISE Travel Grants are awarded on a rolling basis starting mid-Spring.
Criteria for Eligibility:
- Female undergraduate or graduate students majoring in the sciences and engineering (AG, ENGR, EMS, HHD, IST, and SCI)
- Applicant must be presenting either a poster or a paper at a conference in their chosen field (abstract must be sent to WISE prior to travel grant commitment) and able to provide a budget for the travel expenses you expect to incur
- All travel grants must be matched with an equal or greater grant from either your advisor, department or college
- All travel grant recipients must become active (if not already active) with the Penn State Chapter of the Graduate Women in Science (GWIS), Association for Women in Science (AWIS) or another WISE program (e.g., MentorNet, WISE Camps, Expanding Your Horizons, etc.)
Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
Students may apply as soon as the nominations open in Spring so check-back often or sign up for our WISE listserve to be the first to hear about opportunities like this.
