Employment

The Office of Veterans Programs is seeking VA-Work-Study-eligible applicants to assist with their operation. Available positions include:

Front Desk/Receptionist
Duties include maintaining active and inactive certification files, typing and amending certification forms. You will also serve as a receptionist, answering and transferring phone calls, greeting visitors, and scheduling appointments. Work Study Application Form

Peer Counselor & Outreach Program
Duties include contacting veterans and members of the selected reserve by mail and telephone. You will provide information about educational and financial aid opportunities, as well as VA benefits. Additionally, you will provide information to individuals interested in Penn State enrollment.

Vocational Rehabilitation (Ch. 31) Assistant
Duties include assisting in the development and maintenance of databases for Chapter 31 counselor. Additionally, you will assist with other computer-related duties and clerical responsibilities.

Educational Equity: Information Technology Positions
For all positions, skill in at least one of the following areas is a preferred:

  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Typing
  • Reception work
  • Excellent Communications Skills
  • Applicants must be mature, self-starters who are able to work with little supervision.
