Facts about the Penn State Talent Search Program from 1992 through 2004

  • Total Penn State Talent Search high school graduates—2,040

  • 77% have entered some type of education after high school—16% higher than the Pennsylvania average, and 20% higher than National average

  • 60% (1,218) are currently enrolled in college or have graduated from college. Compare this to 28% of Pennsylvania adults and 31% of adults nationally.

  • 76% of our students attending college are at 4 year colleges and universities, 21% are at 2 year colleges, and 3% attend Business/
    Vocational schools

  • 77% of our students have graduated from college with a Baccalaureate degree, 19% have an Associates degree, and the remaining 4% have other professional types of certification, such as Registered Nurse

  • 101 of our students are currently in graduate school. 17 have received second or third degrees, becoming Doctors, Lawyers, and Ph.D. recipients.

  • Penn State Talent Search students are up to 30% more likely to graduate from high school than their peers nationally.
