Counseling Intern / Graduate Assistant

Hello and welcome to PennState! My name is Kenjus T. Watson and I am very excited to continue my life-long journey of learning and growing here in University Park. I have the wonderful privilege of serving and advocating on behalf of students as a counseling intern at the MulticulturalResourceCenter. My position is the result of a great partnership between the MRC and the College Student Affairs graduate program. I enjoy working with the amazing staff and students and believe the MRC’s mission is in-line with my personal passion for equity and social justice.
As a first-generation student of color my undergraduate success was largely influenced by the empathetic concern and advice offered by my school’s culturally-aware counselors and mentors. Thus, I believe that I have come full-circle working in the MRC on behalf of our dynamic and diverse students. I hope I can serve students in an effective manner as a counselor, advocate, facilitator, and educator. I encourage all students to meet regularly with their individual counselor and receive crucial support throughout their time her at PennState.
