Counseling Intern / Graduate Assistant

Tamika Smith.

Hello, my name is Tamika Smith and I want to welcome you to PennState and to one of the best times of your life, college. I have the wonderful opportunity to serve as a counselor here at the MulticulturalResourceCenter. I am here as an advocate and resource for the students. Feel free to come in to discuss anything from your academics to personal issues. I enjoy being apart of the PennState community, and am excited to have the chance to get to know the students better.

As an undergrad I attended MichiganStateUniversity another school in the Big Ten conference, so I understand many of your experiences here at PennState. Being on a large campus can sometimes be overwhelming, but with time and experience you can learn to navigate this university and walk out of here with a degree in your hand. I am a true believer in our mission statement: MRC staff act as advocates for students in dealing with the complex makeup of a large university. They are eager to meet and talk with students. Thus, any issue important to students is important to MRC counselors. So feel free to come in to discuss anything from your academics to personal issues. Remember that I am here as a resource for you!
