NOMINATE FACULTY/STAFF MEMBER FOR AN MRC AWARD
Intended to recognize faculty and staff who have consistently promoted multiculturalism and demonstrated concern for and sensitivity to the needs of students of color (above and beyond their job description). Please assist us in identifying such person(s) by completing the nomination form and returning all materials to MRC (220 Grange Building) before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008. Choose a method to nominate:

NOMINATE SENIOR STUDENT (or CLUB) FOR AN MRC AWARD
Intended to recognize MRC senior students. Also recognizes student organizations that promote multiculturalism.
We encourage you to nominate yourself or others who are deserving of these awards (categories described below). Please ensure all nomination materials are received by MRC (220 Grange Building) before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008. Choose a method to nominate:

MRC Student Awards Categories
Eligible students include recent graduates (previous summer or fall semesters) and seniors who intend to graduate at the end of the current spring semester or the upcoming summer semester.
- Academic Achievement Award
Awarded to the student who demonstrates initiative, perseverance, and the ability to overcome significant obstacles in attaining academic excellence. This student often will improve his/her grade-point average as he/she progresses towards graduation. - Academic Scholarship Award
Awarded to the student who has completed or is currently involved in working on a significant research project, writing a thesis or scholarly paper, presentation at a conference or other scholarly work. This student must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better as of fall semester 2007. - Inspiring Student Award
Awarded to the student who keeps a low profile and toils behind the scenes to make certain that student programs and/or organizations are successful. This student takes the initiative, accepts and carries out responsibility, and completes a task without fanfare. - Leadership Award
Awarded to the student who has provided outstanding leadership in an area of activity (such as student government, social services, mass media, etc.) at Penn State. This person oftentimes is also a spokesperson and role model for students of color. - Volunteer Service Award
Awarded to the student who has given an exceptional amount of volunteer effort to on-campus or community service organization(s) and has made an important contribution to that organization(s). - Student Organization Award
Awarded to the student organization or student group that most significantly promoted multiculturalism and supported students of color at the University this year.
